The company based in Connecticut, Protein Sciences Corporation, won a $35-million government contract to develop an influenza vaccine using insect cell technology and Protein Sciences's director Dan Adams says the first batch of about 100,000 doses were produced last week and the manufacture of the vaccine continues.

My Own Experience with Acupuncture Injection Therapy & Mesotherapy
At the end of 2008, I completed an intensive course in Acupuncture Injection Therapy, Biopuncture and Mesotherapy at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. This in depth course, is a wonderful addition to the diverse modalities I offer my patients.
The universe works in fascinating ways.... Saturday morning at 8:55 am, entering the building for the day's class, I fell. There was no discomfort at the time, other than my frustration at seeing a grounds keeper in a Hazmat suit and respirator, spraying pesticides. Seeing him, and having to walk where he sprayed, distracted me and I fell.
By 2pm, my ankle was hurting. Trying to stand, I was unable to put any weight on my right foot. The pain was intense. Talk about being in the right place at the right time - I was able to be a patient for the very techniques in which we were being trained.
Blanca Miller Kobisher, M.D., our mesotherapy specialist, treated my problem, along with our instructor, J. Williams, O.M.D. The pain was so intense, that Dr. Williams had to hold my leg down for it to be examined and injected.
The Homeopathic injectable, Traumeel, was mixed with a very small amount of lidocaine. Deeper injections were made to the acutely painful areas . The surface of my foot, directly below the ankle on the right outer side, was injected to a depth of 4mm. (4mm is just over an 1/8 of an inch) Dr. Miller Kobisher covered the painful area with multiple injections of minute amounts, placed closely together. Timeline:
2 pm Saturday, unable to put an weight on my right foot, received injection therapy
5 pm picked up from class. Had a family member buy crutches at 6pm
8 pm could rest the heel of my foot on the floor
10 pm could gently and briefly place my heel on the floor when standing with crutches
Midnight could place my heel more easily on the floor
7:30 am Sunday, I needed only one crutch to rest my weight against for support walking
8:50 am used only one crutch to get to class from the building entrance
Dr. Williams reinjected the area with Traumeel and wrapped it again
1pm barely needed the one crutch to walk from the building across the street and down the block to the parking garage. I was able to drive myself home.
3pm didn't need the crutch to walk around the house. I did take it with me to go out to dinner for support, if needed.
Within 24 hours, an excruciating sprain was 95% better.
